Practicalities

• Presenting and submission(s) should be in English.

Our goal is to cater to a diverse audience, including:

• Beginners to advanced Obeya practitioners, either part of a company using Obeya’s and/or professionals helping others to implement and use Obeya’s.

What we offer:

• A ticket registration to the Obeya Summit 2024 and one for your co-presenter*
• A stage to shine and a way to connect, engage and learn with other (Obeya) professionals and companies engaged in Obeya
• An amazing event with an international community Obeya professionals and organizations from all around the world
• An online training session ‘Visual Storytelling using Business Sketch’, hosted in September 2024
• In case you are not yet member to the Obeya Association yet, you and your co-presenter will receive a free membership (one year)

*Travel expenses are not covered

What we ask:

• Commitment to bring your best self and be part of a vibrant and friends-of-friends community.
• An article in which you share your expertise and knowledge about the topic which we can share with our community prior to the Summit.
• Attendance to one of the pre-sessions to prepare for the Summit.

You can submit your proposal using the form that is attached to the button ‘Submit your proposal’. Along with the (working) title, short description and promotional blurb (we will announce your contribution via LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram), we kindly request you to outline the key learnings you intend to cover during your learning session. These learnings should reflect the core takeaways participants can expect from your session.

If you are looking for a methodology and tool that supports the creative process necessary to realize purpose driven goals, Obeya is the way to go! Obeya is Japanese for “Great room”, originally developed to facilitate the design of the Toyota Prius, and is an effective way to bring strategy and execution together. This great room gathers and displays relevant information necessary to (quite literally) bring the people involved together in an engaging and meaningful way. An Obeya breaks down silo barriers and increases collaboration on all levels while developing problem-solving and decision-making skills together. Thus, an Obeya fuels the creative process from start to finish in a visible and tangible way.

• You will understand the concept of Obeya and how it can empower conscious leadership in your organization in order to realize purpose driven results.
• You will learn the basics on how to build and host an Obeya.
• You will have a clear look on your first steps to build an Obeya yourself.

3. Article

We know by now that sharing knowledge and experience offers such value for everyone and as such worth sharing with our community. We also know you know more about the topic you want to present than most people. Therefore, as part of your preparation for the Obeya Summit, we ask you to write an article related to the topic and content you will be covering in your learning session.

This article (around >1250 words, including references like scientific articles and visual supporting elements such as graphs) will be distributed to our community, providing them with in-depth insights into the subject matter. Please ensure that the article is ready for submission no later than 15 October 2024. Of course we support and guide you in your writing process when necessary. Here is an example of an article that was part of one of the key note talk of last year’s edition of the Obeya Summit.

4. Stage experience, Support and Resources

5. Summit Community

The Obeya Summit brings together a community of enthusiastic Obeya professionals who share a common goal of making a positive impact on the world. Take advantage of this opportunity to connect, network, and engage with like-minded professionals who are passionate about driving change.
